How to Search Civil Dockets
Use the Thomas County party search for Superior and State civil cases. Enter the last name before the first name, omit a suffix, and try spelling variants. A case number is the best key when a notice supplies one. Court, division, filing dates, and status can narrow a broad result when those controls load.
Identify venue first. Superior Court keeps divorce, equity, land-title, and adoption matters. State Court shares other civil work. Magistrate Court keeps small claims, garnishments, and dispossessory matters through its own office.
- Choose party, associated-party, or case-number search.
- Enter the narrowest known key and add filters only as needed.
- Check the caption, filing date, court, and status.
- Compare the result with the State or Superior calendar PDF.
- Ask the proper clerk for the filed order or certified copy.
Probate filings use a separate court office and should not be treated as part of the general State or Superior civil search.
Thomas Tyler Civil Search
The Tyler register offers three public paths. Party search is the broad start. Associated-party search helps when a person or entity is linked to the case but is not the usual named party. Case-number search asks for court code, division, year, and number. Some lists load dynamically, so an option not shown by the form should not be guessed.
The official Tyler entry shows the local access system.

The screen is a public index, not the official record. Use it to locate the file, then request an authenticated copy when needed.
| Field | Use | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Party Name | Named civil party | Last name first; no suffix |
| Associated Party | Connected person or entity | Separate path |
| Filing range | Narrow a common name | From and To dates |
| Status | Narrow case state | Options load live |
What a Civil Docket Shows
A Thomas County civil court docket is a register of filings, settings, orders, party roles, and disposition. Filing date and setting date are separate. Cause of action names the broad claim, not the result. An attorney-role line identifies representation, not an outcome.
| Case Number | Local format such as 2024-ST-CV-195-. |
|---|---|
| Parties | Plaintiff, defendant, petitioner, or respondent roles. |
| Filings | Complaint, answer, exhibits, motions, and orders. |
| Settings | Motion, default, jury, nonjury, or trial events. |
| Judgment | The recorded final order, dismissal, or other result. |
Thomas Civil Calendar Fields
The inspected State civil jury sample prints report date and time, report number, court name, calendar type, setting date and time, judge, and page count. A listed matter can show case number, filing date, cause of action, remarks, item number, case time, roles, attorney role, and comments.
The official associated-party form provides a second route.

This path helps only after the court and likely link to the case are known. A remark that a setting was imported from PeachCourt describes data source, not disposition.
Types of Civil Cases on the Docket
Thomas County civil dockets are divided by jurisdiction. Superior Court alone hears divorce, equity, land-title, and adoption work. State Court has concurrent jurisdiction outside those exclusive areas. Magistrate Court handles civil claims and garnishments up to $15,000, plus dispossessory matters and related lower-court steps.
- Contract and account claims may appear in State or Superior Court.
- Tort claims may use the courts' concurrent civil jurisdiction.
- Land-title and equity cases belong in Superior Court.
- Divorce and adoption are exclusive Superior matters.
- Small claims and dispossessory cases use Magistrate Court.
Thomas Motion or Trial Calendar
A motion calendar asks a judge to address a request before final disposition. A default setting concerns a failure to respond as rules allow. Jury and nonjury calendars identify trial settings. Calendar call is an administrative session that helps organize cases and is not always the trial date.
Match the case number, setting type, court, date, and time. Then check whether a later PDF, docket entry, or signed order changed the setting. A case can be continued, dismissed, settled, defaulted, or tried after the first calendar was posted.
- Filing date
- The date the clerk accepted the filing.
- Setting date
- The assigned date for a court event.
- Calendar call
- An administrative session used to organize settings.
- Default judgment
- A judgment allowed after failure to respond or appear under the rules.
Settings and Hearings on Civil Dockets
A Thomas County civil docket may show a motion, default, pretrial, jury trial, nonjury trial, or judge-specific hearing. Superior sheets can divide uncontested and contested work and state expected duration. The setting is one event, not the whole record.
Use the county calendar library to search documents and filter State or Superior Court. The full Thomas County court calendar process includes checking the register and confirming a moved date with the office responsible for the case.
A reset moves the event. It does not dismiss the claim. A signed scheduling order or later entry may control over an old PDF.
Thomas Filed Orders and Copies
A docket entry names an event, while the filed document holds the full text. After locating a Thomas County civil case, use the Clerk's counter, eCertified, PeachCourt, or eFileGA as appropriate. Provider access, image access, and certification may carry separate charges.
The Tyler disclaimer makes that difference clear.

The display is a lead to the file, while the Clerk's authenticated copy is official. The local notice lists unassisted copies at $0.50 per page, assisted copies at $1 per page, and certified copies at $2.50 for the first page plus $0.50 for each later page.
Public Access to Civil Dockets
Public Thomas County civil court dockets can be searched online and inspected through the proper office, but not every case or image is open. Adoption, juvenile, sealed, and other protected material may be absent, redacted, or available only under a court order. A missing public result does not prove the case never existed.
Key rules:
Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 governs court-record inspection and copying, while Rules 21.1 and 21.2 address sealing.
Georgia Open Records Act guidance covers non-court public records and lawful redactions.
Electronic filing does not make each image public. Restriction rules still apply.
Ask the responsible Thomas County office what proof or order is required for a restricted file. Do not infer protected facts from a calendar fragment.
Thomas Civil Filing Channels
The Clerk links PeachCourt and Tyler eFileGA/Odyssey. They are filing and document systems, not one merged free docket. A calendar's PeachCourt import remark confirms source history for some settings.
The ordinary party-search form shows the main public name path.

When a search fails, verify spelling, venue, status, and whether the record belongs to Magistrate Court.
General civil filing is listed at $218 plus service under the county SB322 notice. Family-violence petitions have no filing or sheriff-service fee. Confirm current costs before submission.
Confirm Thomas Civil Results
A civil calendar can show a cause, role, lawyer, and setting without showing all pleadings or the final judgment. Search the register, compare the calendar, and obtain the filed order from the Clerk. For Magistrate work, contact that separate office rather than assuming the general portal has every event.
Georgia Courts E-Access is a provider directory, not one free statewide Thomas County civil docket. If the county portal is unavailable, call 229-225-4108, use the public terminal or counter, and give the exact case number when possible.
Note: A setting on a Thomas County civil calendar is not proof of judgment, settlement, dismissal, or any other final disposition.
